Vision & Aims

The Harris Federation Post 16 aims to provide high quality education and training for students of all abilities and backgrounds. In 2007 the highly successful Harris City Academy Crystal Palace joined forces with the Harris Academy South Norwood and the Harris Academy Merton to form the Harris Federation Post 16. In September 2010 the Harris Academy Purley along with the Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich and Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich will join the Post 16 Federation bringing with it a new range of courses and qualifications. Together we provide a wide range of courses taught by highly experienced staff using brand new state of the art facilities; an offer greater than any one school alone can provide.

Our strategic aim is nothing short of transformation of educational opportunities and with this in mind the Federation has so far overseen an investment of approximately £70m in new buildings and we currently have approximately £100million of works under construction to provide the finest possible educational facilities for young people and their communities in London.

“Harris Federation of South London Schools is the leading group of Academies in England. Four of the six Harris Academies inspected so far have been judged to be Outstanding schools by Ofsted Inspectors, a remarkable record, and one which we are determined to further improve upon in the future. Our young people deserve the very best education and working closely together, benefitting from sponsorship by Lord Harris of Peckham, the Harris Academies are able to offer a far broader and higher quality range of educational opportunities than could any single school working alone. In choosing a Harris Academy for your son or daughter you are gaining the expertise and commitment for your child, not just of that Academy but also of the whole Harris Federation.”
