Y13 COA Evening & Prom 2010

On 21st May 2010, the Year 13 Celebration of Achievement and Prom was held to say a final goodbye to all students from across the Post 16 Federation, including some students who have been at Harris for seven years.   The COA was held at Harris Crystal Palace where staff, students and parents were invited to celebrate

The COA was compered by Shannen Doherty and Liam Norman and included Michelle Jellow singing superbly, accompanied by Jack Shepherd on the guitar and Cephas Azariah on drums. Highlight of the evening for many was the hilarious farewell video put together by Lauryn Christie-Jones – a film-maker in the making?!

Well done to all students who won awards.

With the formalities over, it was time for a convoy of coaches to make their way to Surrey National Golf Club, the venue for the Year 13 Prom.  Well over a hundred students and forty teaching staff from each of the sites continued the evening in the beautiful surroundings of the club.

A professional photographer was on hand to capture memories of the evening.  A three course sit down meal followed a distinctly lemon theme.

Then it was time for the music and dancing to start... there was certainly plenty of dancing and all students and staff seemed to be enjoying their final evening together.

Midnight for some came all too soon and it was time, finally, to say goodbye to Harris.

We would like to thank all the staff who helped make this combined event such a success and the many teachers who attended. Most of all we would like to thank the students, whose behaviour as ever was impeccable.

On behalf of the Post 16 Federation, good luck to our departing students in their future studies and careers.

Ms Swinbank
Deputy Co-ordinator 16 , Merton
